Hiking Lofoten Traverse with broken hand- sections to avoid

Anbefalte innlegg

I am currently hiking the lofoten traverse solo. I must have pissed off the karma gods because I broke my fifth metacarpal on the first day. I’ve decided to give it a crack anyway and have made it from  Å to Vinstad, so far managing ok.

I was just wondering if there are any sections of the hike I should skip, where you really do need 2 fully functioning hands?

Luckily it’s my non dominant hand, and using a walking stick in my right hand is helping a lot with stability on the descents. And occasional bum sliding. Turns out ladders are ok too. I just wouldn’t be able to manage actual proper scrambling.

Any advice if there’s any tricky sections?

I of course take full responsibility for my decisions, and if it ever gets too dangerous/ hard my plan is to just turn around and back track.
