Jotunheimen in juni

Hej!

Sorry we have to write in english.

We are planning to hike in Jotunheimen June 17.-24. Someone allready mentioned that its ok to go to east Jotunheimen in june. So thats where we are going, but...

How do we get there

We have heard that the road to Gjendesheim is closed at that time. We have to travel by bus. Do we have to go to Lom and walk from there? Is it totally impossible to walk through West Jotunheimen from Lom along Visdalen to Lake Gjende in June?

Help us please. We are silly foreigners and don't understand

Hi,

If you come from Oslo, the easyest thing to di is to travel ther by bus. Your destination could either be Fagernes (with a connection to Gjendesheim) or directly to Beitostølen. You will find there are several busses to take you to Gjendesheim, od you could hike.

The road i defenately open, but I`m not sure wether the boats are operating yet. Call the turist information at Beitostølen to find out about both busses and boats.

I would be very surprised if Gjendesheim is closed. Then you should stay at Beitostølen. (again, check with the turist Information)
