We would be probably much faster going from east to west.
Because we would reach the highest point after 1/3 of the section and since the winds are mainly katabatic, the remain 2/3 of the section would be with tailwind.
We do it in reverse (starting in the west) because it starts melting first in the west.
We use Asnes Amundsen BC skis. Crossing against the wind will only be possible to some extend because we cant do proper carving.
This is why we expect to do quite some walking, each with a 100 km pulka, for 2/3 of the tour.
