In my previous topic on the Nordkalottleden I´ve got some very good help from you all, so thank you for that. Now, I plan on walking this route (the huts are orientation points and not day walks, I will sleep in a tent):

Now, Joachim V (user on this forum) has been so kind to send me a planning map of the whole area (the DNT Planleggingskart Nord-Norge). I took it to a local shop (Netherlands) and this are the maps which we came up with to cover my whole trail:
 

(1) Calazo Fjallkarte - Sarek & Padjelanta 1:100.000

(2) Calazo Fjallkarte - Kebnekaisefjällen 1:100.000

(3) Calazo Fjallkarte - Treriksröset, Abisko & Kiruna 1:100.000

(4) Halti Kilpisjärvi Ulkoilukartta 1:50.000

(5) Norge-Serien - Reisdalen 1:50.000

 

Iam happy its only 5 maps, because if I did the whole trail in Norge-Serien 1:50.000, I would have too many maps (and mostly, because it would cost too much money). Can I maybe get a general option on these maps if you are familiar with them? Is the Halti Kilpisjärvi Ulkoilukartta a good idea, or is there a much better map for the route I am taking?

Hi Nop,

I’m sorry, I cant help you with this. However, I wanted to ask you if you have found a GPX track for the route? I want to hike the trail next year and would like to start planning. 

 

Also, I took a look at your gear list. Impressively light weight! I use the BRS stove myself on weekend trips, but would hesitate to take it on such a long hike since there are a lot of reviews claiming that the pot stands melt quite frequently. 

 

Perhaps the Fire Maple or MSR pocket rocket would be safer alternatives?

What do you guys normally buy in supermarkets for hiking food up there? Lots of couscous?
