Cosynook Skrevet 22. mai 2008 Del Skrevet 22. mai 2008 Hello guys, I'm thinking about a crossing of the Jostedalsbreen in summer and like to get some advice about possible routes. The idea is to use Flabrehytta near Fjaerland as a possible start point and Bodalen/Erdalen as finish (or vice versa). I already found out that the route to/from Erdalen might become impassable in summer due to the crevassed Smottene ice stream. But what about the Bodalen route, would that route suitable in summer? Is a rope and glacier equipent necessary? And in general, are Ski still a must for the crossing in that period or is it sufficient to have crampons only? What alternative N-S routes might be feasible in summer? Thanks a lot in advance for your help!! Best regards, Steffen from Germany Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
500fjell Skrevet 23. mai 2008 Del Skrevet 23. mai 2008 Hi! It should be possible to finish your trip in Bodalen, but what season/month are you planning. Is Bohr Glacier dangerous in summer?? You can also end the trip at the peak Skåla, but maybe you have to walk down to lake Kåpevatnet first?? I think some others should answere you Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
