Primus gas cartriges

Hello! Sorry I do not speak Norwegian. I am planning a ski trip in Norway and I was wondering whether I can buy Primus gas cartridges in smaller towns like Filefjell skisenter, Skjåk or Lesjaskog in Romsdalen. If not, what is the most common stove that I should carry?

Thanks! Martin

in remote areas, gas gartridges can be hard to find, the best solution to your problem would be to by a multifuel burner. This is not only a much better appliance in the cold climate, but the fuel is much handel and buy. If your out of fuel, seek the nearest farmer and ask for "heimkok", that should give you enough heat :D

god tur

good, thanks! but since i don't have a multifuel stove and will not get one immediately, could i at least get propane/butane cartridges in places like Øvre Årdal?

Most rural stores and gas stations have gas canisters in stock; the answer is a definite yes to your question.

Why cant you buy a couple of canisters on your way to Øvre Årdal?

Butane/Propane is pretty much useless if the temperature drops below -10C (just in case you were unaware of that, shouldnt be a problem in april though)

Thanks a lot for info! Yes I'm aware of the cold problem, I have been sleeping with the canister in my bag one too many nights in British Columbia. This is a solo trip and i can't rely on my friends' MSR stoves. As you say this should not be a big problem now. i'm starting in Finse and ending in Andålsness hopefully, hitching the last bit without snow. Øvre Årdal is a detour I would like to avoid.

oh yes, if anyone has any advice about going from Finse to Andålsness, that would be great.
